Music Composer
Randy Wink was born in The Netherlands in 1983. He is a composer and producer of film, documentary, and game music. With a background in Information Technology, he began his career as a software developer. Alongside his career in technology, his enduring fascination with storytelling through music led him to composing.
He releases music under the label Philatonica, a name derived from philharmonic (loving harmony) and tonica (the Dutch word for tonic, which is the first note of a diatonic scale). Through Philatonica, he explores the intersection of narrative, atmosphere, and emotion in music.

Harmonization Tool
While many tools exist to support musical creativity, I found myself missing a solution that could assist me during the process of harmonizing a specific melody note.
As a software developer, I set out to create a simple tool that suggests harmonization options for a given melody note, based on a chosen set of scales. These suggestions can be formed purely on the scale, or optionally take into account a previous chord to offer more contextually appropriate choices.
The tool aims to provide a comprehensive range of harmonic options — from basic triads to extended chords like 7ths, 9ths, or 11ths — to support creative decision-making. When a prior chord is specified, the suggestions incorporate voice-leading principles to ensure smooth transitions and maintain musical coherence.
